1. What is a virtual tour?
A virtual tour is a simulation of an already existing location. It uses still or video images and are models of the real location. The virtual tour can also have other multimedia tools within it such as sound, narration, and text.
2. How will I use virtual tours in my classroom?
A virtual tour is a fun and interactive way to learn. It is also a fun and new way to teach a lesson and change teaching methods for the educator. I will use these as a differentiation method to teach lessons. For example, if I would create a webquest, I could upgrade it into a better lesson by making it a virtual tour for my students.
3. What are some pros and cons of using virtual tours?
One con of virtual tours is the time and preparation it takes to make one. It is a long process so teachers might not be able to make a lot of them, maybe only one or two, for their classes. A pro of using virtual tours is that they make teaching and learning a new concept fun and interactive. It is a great way to differentiate teaching instructions and to keep the students interested.
