1. What is a teacher web page?
A teacher web page is a good resource for teachers to have because it helps her students, parents, and community be aware of what is going on in her classroom, know a little bit about her, and how to get in contact with her. They may include teacher information, school information, lesson plans for every day, and are a good resource for students who may miss a day of school; they do not get so far behind if they are aware of what took place that day.
2. How will I use a teacher web page when I teach?
When I become a teacher, I will create a teacher web page that will assist my students and their parents with my class. I will put what happened in class every day and I will put teacher information including contact information in case my students or their parents need to get a hold of me in any way. I will also use the teacher web page for a few lessons I teach to incorporate a diverse style of teaching and learning. It will be a form of differentiated instruction.
3. What are the pros and cons of a teacher web page?
A positve thing about teacher web pages is that it is a good resource for students and parents to know what is going on in my classroom. If students miss a day, they can look at the web page and know what took place. Contact and some personal information about the teacher can also help the parents and students get in touch with the teacher and get to know her.
A negative thing about teacher web pages is the resource they use. Technology is never perfectly reliable so there is no guarentee that students could always have that resource.
